Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make April 6, 2014 the most INCREDIBLE Oxford Kinetics Festival yet! We had over 2200 participants this year.
Check out a slide show of the 2014 OKF that Miami put together for their alumni site.
We are growing by leaps and bounds each year. In 2014 we were happy to welcome back so many of the fabulous groups and activities that make the Kinetics Festival the greatest day of the year. Happen Inc., Know No Stranger, The Scramble, rockets, robots, food trucks, Meltface, Mindful Youth, Project High Flight, and the giant teeter-totter were all on hand again. There was also an original kinetic shadow puppet theater, blacksmithing, metal pours, bike polo, our own twist on the modern biathalon, stilt-required activities, astronauts, robots, apollo landers, and land cruisers.
The 2014 Oxford Kinetics Festival was made possible by a project grant from Artswave, a project grant from the Ohio Arts Council funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, an award from the Efroymson Family Foundation, a grant from the Oxford Community Foundation, a grant from Butler County Rural Electric's Community Connections, funds from Talawanda - Miami Partnership, the Miami Family Fund, and generous support from the Miami University College of Creative Art and Department of Art.
Took place on Sunday April 7th at Millett Hall
This year’s festival was fantastic! Thanks so much to everyone who came out to be part of such a wonderful day. We were delighted to see the projects kids made with Happen and Mindful Youth. Know No Stranger and their amazing puppet suits were a huge crowd favorite. Chris Dance of Meltface provided the perfect musical accompaniment for the Scramble and Smokestack Lightning rocked it out for the rest of the day. We had a great time! Thanks to the Oxford Community Foundation, Miami University Parents Fund, Miami’s School of Creative Arts, the Oxford Community Arts Center, the Oxford Visitors Bureau, and the City of Oxford for all of your support!
